About the SMarTAI Project

SMarTAI – Sustainable Maritime Transport Artificial Intelligence – is an Erasmus+ project that supports the modernisation of maritime higher education in Ukraine.

Project in brief

The project modernises maritime transport education by embedding artificial intelligence, data analytics and sustainability into programmes, courses and training tools. It aims to equip students, graduates and professionals with skills that are relevant for a smarter and greener maritime sector.

SMarTAI brings together universities and stakeholders from the European Union and Ukraine, combining expertise in maritime operations, digital technologies and higher education reform.

Objectives & Impact

The general objectives of SMarTAI include modernising maritime curricula, strengthening digital and green skills, and enhancing cooperation between higher education and the labour market.

The expected impact is improved quality and relevance of maritime education, better employability of graduates and a stronger contribution to EU digital and green transition policies.
